The Santa Cruz Copper Project encompasses 5,975 acres of private land and includes associated water rights. It is located west of Casa Grande, Arizona.
Its Initial Assessment (IA) was completed in September 2023 and focuses on a small surface footprint, underground copper mine with 5.9 million tonnes mined annually, exclusively on the high-grade exotic, oxide and enriched domains of the Santa Cruz and East Ridge Deposits. Life of Mine copper production is estimated at 1.6 million tonnes over a 20-year mine life with a cash cost of $1.36 per pound of copper produced.
Ivanhoe Electric is advancing environmental, technical, and economic studies for an underground high-grade copper mining operation, with a focus on minimizing the surface footprint of the mine, while incorporating leading technologies to improve efficiencies and costs.

Glen Kuntz, the Senior Vice President of Mine Development at Ivanhoe Electric, is a Professional Geologist and mining executive with over 30 years of experience. He has been instrumental in leading the Initial Assessment of the Santa Cruz Copper Project and continues to spearhead the company's efforts on the Preliminary Feasibility Study, driving the project towards mine development.
